Interior Work:

  • All types of painting — interior and exterior
  • Faux finishing
  • Drywall repair
  • Carpentry (Installation of moldings, wainscoting, etc.)
  • Wallpaper removal and installation

When you select Rainbow G&J Painting to paint interior areas, you can expect the following:

  1. We will provide you with color palettes to help you select colors and offer you guidance on paint finish.
  2. We will work with you to determine a start and completion date for the job to minimize disruption of the household.
  3. On the day we start work, we will introduce you to the foreman for the job and walk through the house to confirm colors and the order in which rooms will be done.
  4. Our crews work quietly and efficiently. A foreman is always available to you throughout the job.
  5. Proper preparation to the surfaces to be painted is critical to the final product. We will move and cover furniture and lay down 9” masking paper along floor perimeters; then we will mask off other areas before we even touch the walls. Surfaces to be painted will be spackled, sanded; spot or full primed as needed and any open joints along trim surfaces will be caulked.
  6. In most cases, two full coats of the finish color will be applied by a combination of brush and roller. However, one, three and four coats are not unusual given the condition of the surfaces to be painted and in cases where a dramatic color transformation is desired.
  7. When the job is finished, we will ask you to walk through the house with the foreman to point out any areas that you are not completely satisfied with. Touch-up work and even a repeat full application of paint will be done. It is much easier on everyone to address any deficiencies immediately, while the crew is still in place, than to schedule a repeat visit.
  8. e will leave you with any leftover paint for future touch-up.
  9. We maintain records on each job we do. We have had customers contact us years after a job has been done to find out exactly which paint was used.

Exterior Work:

  • All phases of painting and staining
  • Powerwashing houses, decks, walkways, foundations, patios
  • Sealing/staining decks, gazebos, porches
  • Iron rails
  • Carpentry and wood replacement
  • Foundation painting/waterproofing

When you select Rainbow G&J Painting to paint the exterior of your home, you can expect the following:

  1. We will offer you the use of a fan deck to assist you in selecting color(s) and/or arrange for a color consultant to come out and help you select the right colors.
  2. We will ask you to walk around the house with the foreman so that you understand the scope of the job and the order in which tasks will be performed.
  3. Exterior surfaces vary greatly. Normal preparation for painting or staining may include power washing, scraping, hand sanding, power sanding, removing old caulk and re-caulking around windows, doors, open trim and molding joints, spot or full priming, wood replacement where the siding or trim has rotted, applying wood fill on any woodpecker or carpenter bee holes and installing clapboard wedges between boards to allow for better air circulation, which will result in better paint performance over the years.
  4. Two full coats of paint or stain will be applied to all main body surfaces and two full coats of paint will be applied to all trim surfaces and doors.
  5. Unless fixed to brick or masonry surfaces, shutters will be removed, repainted and re-hung. Fixed shutters will be prepped and painted in place.
  6. You may elect to have window sashes repainted. We will sand sashes smooth, re-glaze them as needed and apply two coats of paint.
  7. At the conclusion of the job, we will ask you once again to walk around the house with the foreman. Please look at the house carefully and point out any areas that you are not completely satisfied with. We will address these areas immediately.

Other exterior services include:

  • Powerwashing — houses, decks, swing sets, concrete patios and sidewalks, pool areas, driveways, garage floors, etc.
  • Carpentry — You can’t paint over rotted wood and expect the job to look good or last. We do it all.
  • Waterproofing/Sealing/Preserving — decks, swing sets, cedar shakes, wood clapboards, brick/masonry chimneys, walkways, basement cinder block or poured concrete walls, garage and basement floors (to prevent tracking dust into the house).
